Brian Braudis’ 1-Minute Morning Memo: January 23, 2017 – Patterns and behaviors

The further back to what the cause is… in the causal chain to address and make a change, the more profound the effect on our progression forward. So with that fact in mind let’s ring in the New Year with some fundamental shifts in patterns and behaviors that are sure to work in your favor.

Patterns are merely patterns we’ve fallen into. They are ripe to be changed. Begin to recognize your patterns.  Soon you will see and realize that these patterns are changeable. All it takes is a shift. …why do I get angry at such small things?  Recognize emotions early on and don’t allow your buttons to be pushed. Ask why do I react rather than respond with composure?

You don’t have to act on the real, knee-jerk feelings that may be destructive, ineffective and ill serving. Slowly and intentionally train yourself to respond better. Learning to self-regulate returns the power to you. No one or no thing can push your buttons. No longer being driven, YOU become the driver!

It’s a more powerful stance when your composed, rational behavior leads you rather than allowing circumstance to dictate your behavior. You own your excellence!

A clarification. Of course embrace who you are, love yourself and be true to who you are but recognize that we don’t come to be self disciplined, self correcting, tactful and highly effective naturally from birth. We have blind spots.

Make the choice to continually raise the bar and increase the (your) standard. A better Self will make a better world and you are the first to benefit. You become more valuable!

Excellence is never an accident. It is always the result of high intention, sincere effort and intelligent execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives—choice not chance determines your destiny. Aristotle
