Brian Braudis’ 1-Minute Morning Memo: January 25, 2016 – Today’s focus: Encouragement

Encouraging New Year

Today’s focus:Encouragement. It is very early in a very Encouraging New Year. I want to encourage you right now to do something to start living your dreams not just dreaming.

Don’t allow the thoughts or comments of others pull you down or deflate your hope. The power of your dream is in you not anyone else. How could anyone interpret your ideas with any validity?

Here’s some encouragement you may not be familiar with.

  • The Grammy Award winning band Imagine Dragons had a dream of creating mainstream guitar music for the masses and were told that guitar music is fading out. That’s the same thing an “expert” told the Beatles in the 60s! In both cases the dream prevailed.
  • The books In Search of Excellence and The One-Minute Manager were first self-published and later sold to a publisher.
  • Leonard Cohen had some success as a fiction writer but it was his music that eventually caught on. Cohen released his debut album at age 33 but 17 years later he released “Hallelujah” which appealed to the masses and has been covered by over 200 artists in various languages.

For some their dreams continue to evolve and come alive today. That’s because they continue to work at it, practice and grow.

Don’t let some one else speak to your dreams. Take a step now and begin crafting your contribution. Don’t rely on others for validation. What they have in store for you is not very much.

Question every assumption about human potential. Everybody else is not you!
