Brian Braudis’ 1-Minute Morning Memo: October 3, 2016 – Positive attitude

It is important to stay positive for growth and productivity but don’t be fooled. Too many people put all their faith in positivity. It alone will not get you where you want to go.

There’s more to achievement than following a listicle, “top 10” on what successful people do. Remaining positive is a mere mechanism to help keep your upward mindset in the face of setbacks, negaholics , detractors, non-believers and criticizers. In the face of challenges and rejection you need to stay positive but alone it’s not enough of a force.

To ensure success you need a plan with metrics and you must measure growth and hold it up against your target, goal or purpose. Action gets you there. A positive attitude supports the action.

When a farmer looks at his field full of weeds he can’t just stay positive and expect an abundant crop. He must till, plant and cultivate what he wants to grow. What are you cultivating?

The law of harvest tells us you reap what you sow. If all you sow is a positive attitude that’s all you’ll reap. In the face of challenges the positive attitude standing by itself is likely to whither, wilt and droop.
