Brian Braudis’ 1-Minute Morning Memo: December 30, 2019 – End of Year Reflection

Year ReflectionYear Reflection: We are at the end of one year and at the cusp of a new one, an excellent time to contemplate. Take your attention, inward.

Where you are now is the result of what you were. What you will be in the future is the result of what you are cultivating now.

End of Year Reflection

You don’t need research, science, or data to show you that we (all of society) agitate the world and are easily agitated by it. But it doesn’t have to be like this. This is the one area where you have complete control. No therapist, friend, lover, coach, or mentor can do what you can do for yourself.

Contemplate where you can free yourself

Anger, hatred, and resentment are psychic irritants that act as emotional bondage. They keep you entangled and make life a struggle. Don’t be enslaved to things outside your control. It’s like one client recently exclaimed. Brian, “I spent my life trying to manipulate outside circumstances for me to be OK. What a miraculously freeing discovery to realize that my being OK had nothing to do with anyone outside of myself. All the while, the power was in me!”

Cultivate goodness

Recognize that with acceptance, forgiveness, understanding, and insight, we no longer agitate the world, nor are we agitated by it.

Please, please, please appreciate this is not about letting a “bad person” off the hook. It’s about freeing yourself from being enslaved and oppressed by perceived bad people, a world that is “wrong.”

Year Reflection Call to Action

Reflect on how you will use today to create the tomorrows you’ve always wanted.

Choice is a rudder in front of you right now. You are responsible for you. Your effort, commitment, and resolve bridge the gap of who you are now and who you want to become. No one else can do it.

Become the master of your destiny rather than the servant of your circumstances.
