Brian Braudis’ 1-Minute Morning Memo: February 12, 2018 – Lead Don’t Follow

Paying attention to the Eagles Super Bowl win reveals even more evidence for not follow the societal norm or the current culture and writing your own script….to lead don’t follow.

So-called experts criticized the Eagles coach, quarterback and team mercilessly.
If you were just dropped on the planet February 3rd you would have thought the Eagles were amateur inmates of the NFL.

It reminded me of schoolyard folly, a whole lot of wind that amounted to nothing. But it was intimidating. Words can cause damage. It’s a good thing the coach, quarterback and team knew themselves and where they were going. Of course the experts were wrong but there’s nothing new there.

This is a lesson for all of us. When people discredit you, project their thoughts and beliefs on you and criticize you they are showing their limited capacity.

Nobody knows you. They can’t know you….they may know something about you but they don’t know you.

Always keep your priorities in your sights. Just as the Eagles did, run your race. Lead don’t follow.

Don’t allow the judgment, criticism or projections of others to affect or influence your actions, direction, enthusiasm or your self-image in any way. Lead don’t follow

This is critical. I’m always pushing you to lead your life, invest in yourself, don’t follow along and this is why. Lead don’t follow.

Prepare yourself. You never know when the critics will rear up and you cannot allow the mere wind of a critic to become a setback.

How much easier it is to be critical than to be correct.
