I had the pleasure of spending a weekend with my Mentor Group. It’s inspirational being around successful-minded people. I’m not necessarily referring exclusively to financial success. These people know their purpose. They know their strengths and they act, adapt and improve around their strengths and continually gaining clarity of purpose.
As I observed this group and myself in this group one BIG characteristic stood out beyond quotidian. At the core of success for this Mentor Group is each individual’s drive toward well-focused effort—over the long haul. Within that core of work they:
- Know failure is fleeting
- Adopted a growth mindset
- Deliberately practice
- Do more than contemplate doing
- Take risks
- Persist beyond mere completion of a task
- Pursue Mastery
These folks are serious. They have shunned the amateur and move strictly in the professional realm. True professionals are ambitious to help. They know their purpose, they know how they help others and they not only know that they are good, they know why they’re good.
“If it’s to be, it’s up to me”
