Brian Braudis’ 1-Minute Morning Memo: August 28, 2017 – What defines you?

Your Purpose

What defines you? Or I should ask, what do you allow to define you, what is your purpose?

Too many people lose their power to their circumstances. They end up reacting to life rather than leading their life. Then they say to me, I’m not where I wanted to be at this stage in my life.

It’s the ultimate self fulfilling prophecy when you let the economy, your bad boss, the “turkeys” you work with define and thus limit you, you’ve become weak right along with the situation you dislike.

This is a clue to begin leading your life. Help defining your purpose is here.

Surely Your Purpose is Not to Complain

  • The employee who whines incessantly is defined as a crab apple whiner.
  • The person who never has any time is defined as a dead end.
  • The person who says the system’s holding me back is defined as surrendered.

The more you talk, protest or grumble about the situation, the more you own it.

If you allow circumstances to define you, that becomes your box, you’re then literally limited by the box you’ve created. Use your energy not to describe the situation but rather to address the situation.

The energy here works in either direction. Be careful what you create. Circumstances are meant to be overcome.

Circumstances won’t define you. What you do about them will.
