I caught up with a newly independent graphic artist friend “Tim” this weekend at a wedding on Block Island. Yes, we set aside a special time to talk and go deep about progress.
He recently left a firm to go out on his own and he is doing well but noted the challenge of never letting up. He can’t do it all and wished that his freelance help was more committed. So far he has only one that he can rely on. Tim said, before I take on more work, I need more solidly committed freelance help.
I reminded Tim of Packard’s Law: No company can grow revenue faster than its ability to get enough of the right people to implement the growth. Progress is about people!
Here’s what to keep in mind as you Make Progress
- What people do you need to increase your progress?
- Progress won’t come from cutting back. Be bold.
- No one gets close to realizing their potential without hard work, managing setbacks and developing.
Tim has an attitude of gratitude for his progress out of a firm and on hs own. He knows not letting up will ensure progress.
Remember, progress is different from arrival. Progress is ensuring you’re not where you were yesterday. Maybe you’re not quite where you want to be. But ask yourself, have you progressed beyond where you were? Read More Here..
