Brian Braudis’ 1-Minute Morning Memo: September 21, 2015 – Today’s focus: Encouragement

Encouragement

Today’s Coaching: Encouragement. When I read that we humans come by a negative bias naturally I felt compelled to write.

Dr. Rick Hanson says that our neuro-tendancy is stickier with negative stimuli and more Teflon-like with positive stimuli.

We tend to dwell more on what’s wrong, naturally. So I began thinking…. This productive, what is possible, “treasures are buried everywhere keep joyfully looking” effort is a full time job.

No wonder the communal energy primarily leans negative. It’s tough to keep up the fight.

We Could All Use a Little Encouragement.

  • Stay open-minded. Work to pay attention to what is coming up for you. Feel it and manage it. Exert control where you have it, with Self.
  • Stay well informed and rational. Be aware of alarmist, exaggerated language. Mark Twain said, “I’ve been through some terrible things in my life, some of which actually happened.” Enough said.
  • Don’t look for guarantees, rather build resiliency. The ability to get up and try again is priceless. In reality, no one really knows where the treasure is buried.

Always remember negativity inhibits energy….do you want to be inhibited?  Today, let’s stay positive…who’s with me?
